The Humane Society of the United States is sponsoring two free events in Bucks County in October. HSUS 101 will take place at 7 p.m. on October 1 at the Bucks County Library Center in Doylestown, and an All About Fostering workshop will occur at 12:15 p.m. on October 27 at the Middletown Friends Meeting House.

HSUS 101: Hosted by retired State Senator Roy Afflerbach, this free event offers an introduction to legislation around treatment of animals. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask the speaker questions and learn how to have input in the legislative process. Participants can register at humanesociety.org/HSUSevents.

All About Fostering: This event is part of the "Improving Your Life" speaker series at the Middletown Friends Meeting House. The workshop will provide information to anyone interested in learning about adopting a pet.
