Local Earned Income Tax (EIT) Return Due April 15
Keystone Collections Group’s e-file is the easy, fast and secure way to file your 2014 local earned income tax return. It lets you file your tax return when it is most convenient for you. You will need your W-2, your Social Security Number and any other income documents that may apply (such as a PA-UE or a Schedule C).
Please note: If you will be claiming an out-of-state tax credit or if you work in Philadelphia, you may be eligible for a local earned income tax credit up to the amount you owe to your resident municipality (Middletown Township). The worksheet on the back of the form will help you calculate your out-of-state tax credit (attach a copy of your out-of-state filing).

There is a Low Income Exemption for anyone whose earned income is below $12,000 for the year. You must file a paper return to claim this exemption. The instructions to claim the exemption are listed below, and can also be found on the EIT Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) sheet . You can access the complete EIT FAQs sheet by clicking this link .
There is not a form to complete for the EIT low-income exemption. This would be determined on your annual final tax return based on your income for the entire tax year. If an individual made under $12,000, that person would not be liable for the Earned Income Tax and would be entitled to a refund of any withholding which would be requested on the final tax return.
To claim the Low Income Exemption, ascertain that your Total Taxable Earned Income on line 4 (per individual) falls below $12,000. If you qualify for the Low Income Exemption, you will need to file a paper return. Write boldly across the top of the Annual Tax Return “Low Income Exemption”. In line 9, Total Tax Liability – place a zero ( 0.00) in the column. On line 10 or 11, show your withholding amount and/or your estimated payments. Then compute your refund on line 14. Sign, date and file the return.
Taxpayers with earned income and individuals claiming the Low Income Exemption in 2014 are required to file a local income tax return by Wednesday, April 15, 2015.
